October 10, 2018
For those of you who missed our inaugural newsletter in September, we announced in that issue our revitalization from Westside Communities Alliance to Communities Who Know, Inc.™ See our website below to check out the initiatives that we are pulling forward:
This volume continues to tell our story of civic engagement. I hope that you will be excited by these initiatives and will want to continue to be an active part of our network of partners. Our mission continues to be: Finding Collaborative Solutions for Sustainable Communities. This month, the focus is on sharing events and activities so that we have the opportunity to join hands and support each other. Partners want you to be informed, and all would appreciate your support.
If your organization has announcements going forward that you would like to be included in the November Volume, do let me know so that we can help to get the word out. Remember, CWK Newsletters are posted on the second Wednesday of the month. Be sure to send along announcements the week before so that they might be included.
As always, ever onward,
CEO, Communities Who Know, Inc.™
Remember that the CWK Data Dashboard TM is available to support the community work that you are doing. See the link to the CWK Data Dashboard web page below. Be on the lookout for workshops focused on community concerns that we are planning for the Spring. In the meantime, if we can be helpful to you in using data in meaningful ways, let me know. You can email me at: email@example.com.
The CWK Digital Repository for Community Archives™ is partnering with the Auburn Avenue Research Library, the Spelman College Archives, and Historic Washington Park to conduct a seminar on collecting, collating, and preserving your organizational materials. It will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Washington Park Tennis Center. See the link below for more general information about this initiative.
Historic Westside Gardens is looking for new Board members. We need people who have a passion for our Mission, which is “Home-Grown food for a rooted, powerful, and resilient Westside.” You must be able to meet at least once a month and have a willingness to help raise funds and serve on committees to benefit the community.
If this sounds like something you can commit to, please email Gil Frank, our co-founder and Executive Director (firstname.lastname@example.org) and an application will be sent to you. Please complete the application and return it. Upon receipt of the application, a meeting will be scheduled with Gil, another board member, as well as Kelly Brown, our Chair of the Board, to discuss moving forward.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
